Perfect Fitness Mini Compact Stepper – : Robust and not very bulky.

Great little stepping machine, allows you to count steps throughout the day (or week) before it’s reset. Very solid and well made, this definitely feels like a stepping machine, albeit it a slightly clunkier ride than a high-end machine. I bought this so that i could use it whilst sitting under my desk (the machine, not me clearly ;0) and as long as you position it carefully, it works well. One great little feature is that it stores your steps until reset – so if you set yourself a target of, say, 2000 steps over a day, but broken down into a few minutes per hour, it will keep recording them until your hit reset. It does notionally record calories, but i think that is a little meaningless – each person’s calorie burn is completely different, plus there’s a huge difference between using this in a seated position, or standing. Possibly the only thing to be aware of is the weight of the machine – certainly i had no trouble carrying it, but it is a very solid piece of kit.

Has upper-body exercisers, not shown on picture. First impressions are good – i just received this. It was delivered very quickly. It feels heavy and sturdy and the build quality is reassuring. You have to give it some welly to step, there is a reasonable level of resistance, which is preferable for me to some of the light flimsy models out there. The digital display is clear and looks easy to use. It has come with two upper-body exercisers as well – not shown on the picture and attached by mini carabiners to 2 loops on the framework. I doubt i will use these but obviously they are responding to the fact that all the other steppers have them. It is relatively easy to step and smooth, not clunky.

Im really pleased with this purchase. Here are the specifications for the Perfect Fitness Mini Compact Stepper –:

  • Unique tension pulley system for smooth stepping action
  • Non skid feet to prevent slipping
  • Display shows total steps, workout duration and calories burned

I’ve been using this stepper for a couple of weeks now. I think it’s pretty good as a way of topping up your daily steps/activity but it can’t really be used for longer than about 15 mins without the tension really being lost. This is because there is just one factory setting for the tension, which is great when you first start as the stepper is cold, but as soon as it’s warmed up from use the tension really drops. So it would be better to use it in short bursts at, say, the start and end of the day.

This is very sturdy and worth the money.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Robust and not very bulky.
  • Reassuring build quality. Has upper-body exercisers, not shown on picture
  • Great Step Machine

Does squeak after a while but they do the job.

Robust and not very bulky. . This comes complete, so no faffing and fixing about, which is a relief. It is robust and can take a heavy persons load. It is stiff, but i imagine that will ease over time. This is probably not the best stepper for very weak and frail old folk.

  1. Great for some but won’t suit everyone. For the last 3 months i have been using another brand of mini stepper which was adjustable and have been successful in losing 9kg using this and counting calories. However the counter broke on 3 steppers so i got a refund and bought this instead. The main difference is that it is not adjustable. The resistance is a little harder than i am used to but this in itself is ok, i can manage. What i’m finding difficult is that it’s much steeper than my old one and therefore harder to do. I can only manage shorter bursts & at a slower pace meaning that i cannot complete as many steps in a day. I have decided that numbers aren’t everything and i need to persevere. I had hit a plateau so obviously need to challenge myself more. I can certainly feel it in my thighs which i want to trim down.

  2. Great for keeping fit in front of the computer. Sturdy little piece of equipment. It comes with arm exercising straps as well which aren’t mentioned. I’m using it in front of my standing computer desk to keep fit. All i want to do is go up and down so i’m not bothered that you can’t swing from side to side. I play music while i’m exercising to make it more fun. My only gripe is that it didn’t come with any maintenance instructions and after a few days the screw on one side came undone and it wasn’t obvious how to reattach the arm. Also the back bar had moved forward. But by looking closely at the photograph i was able to reattach it very easily and tighten it with the allen key it came with. I don’t bother using the digital display so can’t comment on that.

      1. You have to have a degree of balance with this, but once you get used to it, it does what it says on the tin. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the readout and the reset button. Tricky to read and the reset button has to be held for far too long to zero.
