Office Fitness Mini Bike – Magnetic Resistance – Super quiet : Good solid machine

Have been trying hard to lose weight to help ease my angina; this product is very useful, easy to set appropriate tension. Easy to use, and virtually silent, for legs or arms.

I purchased these because i did not feel that i was getting enough resistance from the original ones i had these are sturdily built and provide a good workout for my legs. I find it hard to exercise as i have had a stroke and am unable to to stand by myself, so these have enabled me to exercise whilst sitting, so i have been able to keep more active.

The bike wobbles and moves away from mel, even with non-slip mats underneath. I’ve had to resort to weighing the bike down with dumbell weights and even then it moves. The resistance, even at the highest setting is too weak. On the plus side it is light, doesn’t take up much room, it allows you to work out both arms and legs and despite the weak resistance a half hour workout probably burns a decent enough amount of calories. Here are the specifications for the Office Fitness Mini Bike – Magnetic Resistance – Super quiet:

  • Smoothest magnetic resistance in its class
  • Super quiet, ROHS compliant engineering
  • Dual pedal action – forward and reverse
  • Graduated resistance levels – easy to tough
  • Adjustable front feet for stability and compactness

Works smoothly with a good level of resistance, i’d recommend this to anyone who is trying to burn a few calories or keep fit whilst in the office. It’s heavy enough to remain in one position whilst you cycle but not too heavy so that it becomes less portable.

A well built machine which sits stably on the floor. The resistance control is excellent and it works for reverse pedalling also. The pedals themselves are not perfect. Although the picture shows them ready to receive a foot, note that they are not weighted so invariably they turn over the other way and live with the buckles underneath the foot rest, so that they have to be turned over manually before each use. Also the buckles have no length adjustment.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • robust and suitable for more mature user
  • Great piece of kit
  • Office fitness mini bike magnetic resistance

Nice product, very quiet as stated in product description. Nice resistance adjustment and smooth operation. Can sit and watch tv whilst getting some exercise.

I did previously own a cheaper version from lidl which wasn’t magnetic and used a friction resistance. At best it created a pile of dust(from the friction)and zero resistence. Put simply- it didn’t work and was a waste of money. This on the otherhand has a magnetic mechanism similar to that of the exercise bike variety. It has a smooth action and actually has a good range of resistance, to the point that i find it challenging. I’m very pleased i’ve purchased it. It costs £20 more than the lidl version so it’s not that expensive all things considering. Just to add i’ve got my model vice gripped to the top of an exercise bike, so i’m exercising all my limbs simultaneously, now thats a workout that would challenge an expensive gym and at a fraction of a membership cost. Also note, if you look on other sites in the usa, a model similar to this will set you back $160, its a no brainer.

  1. This is a very quiet and good exercise bike. This is a very quiet and good exercise bike, the reasons that i have given it only 3 stars is because the tension control just don’t work that well and it does move around a lot in use. I weigh the device down with a pair of dumbbells which does the trick.

    1. I bought this mini bike to strength my legs after some emergency surgery that left me very weak. I was able to set the resistance to very low to start with and increase it as my strength increased. I love the fact that as it says it’s super quiet. I usually do my exercises while watching tv (makes time go quicker). I can see myself to continue to use it in the future (even after i’m fully recovered) just as a way of exercising, mainly in the evenings after coming back from work in the winter when you don’t feel like going outside. It’s a great way of exercising your legs.

I bought this to use at home when i watch tv in the evening and i have to say that i think it is a fabulous product. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and i have had not problems. It was easy to put together and alter the tension. The handle and the extendable leg at the front are also really handy. I thought the price was good for the product that i received.

    1. Good and probably the best available but a bit easy to pedal. This is nice and doesn’t move around the floor much when you peddle, but quite honestly when sitting in a normal armchair with the resistance set high i do find it needs something behind it to stop it slowly sliding away from me. Seems to be very stable all on it’s own on a lower resistance though, but having said that the highest resistance level isn’t very tough really. Sure if you’re not really used to exercise it’s going to be plenty for you, but for me it’s just about as good as taking a walk. Don’t get me wrong im not complaining, i only got this so i could do some mild calorie burning whilst watching tv or playing games. But just be aware that personally i can only get my heart rate upto about 90bpm on the highest setting, peddling at about 15km/hr, and im not an athlete or anything, just pretty strong at cardio. With a very vigorous 28km/hr i can get it to about 130bpm, but i feel like the thing is going to run away with itself at that speed. Overall i’m happy with it as i only got it for light exercise, but its certainly not built for cardio, unless as already stated, you are not used to exercise at all. If you aren’t, it’s probably the ideal piece of kit to start you off. Perfect for: beginner cardio & light calorie burning at any level.

  6. Robust and suitable for more mature user. I’ve waited a few months before reviewing this, and the first thing to say is it is still in one piece and still being used. So straight away it’s an improvement on other pieces of home exercise equipment i’ve bought over the years. So far it has proved itself to be durable, nothing has broken or fallen off. The robust construction does mean it is quite heavy, and some folk (eg with back problems) might want to be cautious about how they lift if off the floor. The good news for me has been that when pedalling it with the feet it hasn’t aggravated my dodgy knees. In fact i think i have had less knee pain since i’ve been using it though this might be coincidental. Using it with hands on the pedals initially caused quite painful stiffness in the neck and shoulders so i’m careful not to overdo using it like this – and i had to experiment to find a comfortable position which for me involves sitting on the floor rather than having the thing on a table or similar – i realise this wouldn’t suit everyone. The resistance is adjustable but i find that when using it with my feet i don’t notice a great difference, although it is more noticeable when using hands. A person who is younger or fitter than me would probably find this equipment doesn’t offer enough of a challenge, but for the more mature person looking to take gentle exercise at home i would say this piece of kit is worth a try.

      1. Although this bike does work very well, be warned that the operation manual is very basic with poor english – also there is no guarantee – so i hope the bike doesn’t break.

I’m too lazy and or tired to leave the house after work and spend most of my time gaming / watching movies after the perpetually tiring grind of the nine to five. I am now cycling for an hour+ most days whilst doing these previously lazy activities, and i am feeling a lot more energetic for it. I am a hiker and like to think i am quite fit, so i can say with some certainty that the resistance levels on offer are more than adequate. Unfortunately i can’t take it to work and exercise on the job, but if you are lucky enough to have your own office – or the ability to set a healthy precedent in the horror that is the open plan workspace – then this would be a great way to keep those doughnuts in the kitchen from expanding your waste.

Office fitness mini bike magnetic resistance. This mini bike is very convient to use as an exercise tool as it can be used while watching tv etc and takes up very little space as opposed to a full exercise bike. Pedals have a very smooth motion. It can sometimes slide a little on wooden or tiled floors but this can be stopped by putting it against a wall or piece of furniture. If you then find your chair is sliding, sitting on a high stool works well as you are sitting above the pedals and not pushing them away from you. I loved this item so much i ordered a second one for my mother.
