Quick delivery, very good value. Quick delivery, very good value, this is an excellent machine.

Wish i would have brought it sooner. This a been such a great buy and really has motivated us to get fitand exerice more without going to the gym.

Nice bike, good quality for the money. . The item arrived a couple of days before the delivery date and it comes in a large heavy box roughly half a cubic metre in volume. It comes in about 10 pieces, all neatly packed into the box separated with polystyrene and covered in plastic. Nothing was damaged or dented. It took me about an hour to assembe the pieces and the instructions are clear enough but you do need to look at the pictured and not rush it because it is easy to screw up at a couple of stages if you assume you know what you are doing. One assembled, the only thing that wasn’t idea was the length of the power cable supplied with the power supply. Unless you are within about 3 feet of a plug socket then you are going to need an extension cable. It’s not really a problem as long as you are prepared for it. The bike felt much sturdier than i expected when i got on it, nice and firm and doesn’t at all give the impression that it will move or slide whilst exercising. The handlebars don’t really adjust and are a bit too far away for my liking but it can easily be cycled without having to hold them.

Marcy CL803-B80 Cardio Star Deluxe Exercise Cycle (Silver/Black) : I looked intensively before i settled on this bike. It’s a great buy and provides a great workout. It feels like a good gym quality bike as well. I am still getting use to it and trying to build up my stamina because after 5 minutes i’m tired. But overall it’s a great, quite bike and suitable for me (5 feet) and my husband (6 feet). The seat and handle bars can be adjusted to suit height and comfort. It was also very easy to put together (well for my husband that is).

  1. And she holds up very well ( 23 stone) an excellent product and piece of cardio equipment. Robust and strong, seriously a substantial weight has been placed upon * betty* the bike, and she holds up very well ( 23 stone) an excellent product and piece of cardio equipment.

  2. Although reasonable fit i was 2 stone. I bought the bike second hand, at an excellent price. Although reasonable fit i was 2 stone over weight. I only use the basic p1 and i do a warm up of 2 minutes, and then a burst of 25 secs at setting 10 as fast as i can about 100revs,with 35 secs at half speed. I do this 7 times followed by 6 to 11 minutes at reasonable speed at setting 12. I do this before breakfast, and i stop eating after 2000. After 6 weeks i was within my bmi. Also during the day i do every few hours 5 mins at reasonably speed setting 12. So in total i do over 30mins a day.

A fantastic piece of equipment. Firstly, thank you to the people who bought one of these before me. I read their reviews carefully and learned a lot. I read reviews for other exercise cycles as well. I hadn’t realised some of them are not for people over a certain weight – and i am rather heavy, hence the desire to buy an exercise cycle because i figured walking/jogging would put strain on my joints. Assembling it was intuitive and very easy and didn’t take long. The features looked good – all the different programs or you use a manual setting. It has worked flawlessly and reliably and i am very impressed. I will be honest and say that at first i didn’t use it as often as i should. I started with four minutes of exercise using one of the pre-programs and it nearly killed me.

Excelent machine, fast delivery. I am very happy with this cycle. Assembly was quick but there was damaged connector on computer(by my opinion packing was not god enough and was broken in transport). That was 5 minutes extra to me but for some people will be dificult. After assembly working perfect without any problem more than 8 months.

      1. The bike was fairly easy to assemble and took about 45 minutes with two people. The problem i’m now having (other than the seat being exceptionally uncomfortable) is that there seems to be little or no difference in resistance between level 1 and level 16. Is anybody else having this issue?.

Good value, solid, easy to construct but pulse monitor completely inaccurate. +solid, no vibration when used, mechanically very well designed. +easy to put together on my own, took about an hour and instructions were sufficient+delivery was quick, it was well packaged+simple to program with my profile-slight scratches on computer / head unit when the bike arrived. -heart rate monitor completely useless. I wasn’t sure whether to give this product a 3 or 4 star review. I really wanted to like this bike – it is good looking, easy to construct and almost as substantial as the commercial models in my gym. The preset programs are sufficient for my needs and the computer is well designed. I’ve had the bike now for about 10 days and like using it. However, even ignoring two hairline scratches on the computer head unit (which i can live with, although they did take the sheen off my purchase), the deal-breaker for me is the fact that the heart rate monitor is completely useless. I normally use the bikes at my local gym to maintain a constant pulse whilst exercising – however this is completely impossible on the marcy, which i’d bought as an alternative to gym fees. Maybe i was just naive expecting a £200 exercise bike to ship with handle pulse sensor that work as described. The sensors on the handle are inconsistent, reading either between 80-90 or 200+ bpm, regardless of how hard or gently i’m working out. Very occasionally, i might see tantalising flashes of my normal 140-150 range on the display for a second, but these disappear. I’ve tried disconnecting / reconnecting all of the wires, and make sure that the hand sensors are clean and dry.

    1. Ok – but mine had a noise issue. Good clear screen – easy to assemble – looks good – parts mostly well made. Controls are not very intuitive. When set below 3 (on the power scale) it makes a clicking noise from the magnetic pressure device almost to the point of sending it back – but due to the hassle, i decided to put up with it.

An excellent product, well suited to current needs. The only criticism is that it’s heavy. But that means it’s robust, which is good. And it does have small wheels. Not used the fancy programs available, even in basic mode it functions well. The electronic-rather-than-mechanical aspect of the workings is excellent and works well. Purchased to give exercise while trying to recover from a back problem, and to build some strength into my legs. I use it on level 6 (out of 16), occasionally upping that to level 8. Three ten-minute sessions per day seems to be working well. 3 days, assembly a little tricky but worked first time. This seems to be one of the cheapest of the ‘professional’ cycles rather than the inexpensive friction-based ones which, though lighter and simpler, seem from their reviews to suffer from mechanical problems.

An extremely sturdy and well-made bit of kit. Easy to assemble and unbelievably quiet. Only complaint (and it’s a quibble) is that the program selection is not very user friendly and the control unit would have benefited from having one or two more buttons to simplify use.

I am in the process of losing 11stone (69. 9kg) and i was looking for some kind of cardiovascular exercise to do, sadly walking is out of the question (due to a hip injury) and i can’t afford to keep doing swimming, so i decided to buy an exercise bike; i was looking at a couple of options, but my main criteria was a high maximum user weight and magnetic resistance, so in the end i chose to marcy cl803 because it has a maximum user weight of 150kg. It arrived within 5 days of ordering (i ordered it on a monday and i was riding it by friday the same week). It was pretty straight forward to put together; all the parts were in the box; all the parts were easily identifiable; the instruction were mostly diagrams and well documented, accurate and pretty idiot proof. My husband did most of the assembling by himself, he just needed an extra pair of hands for some of the larger parts (it is possible to do it solo, but does benefit from a collaborative approach). Once assembled we wheeled it into position (near a window in the corner of the room) which was easy enough thanks to the small wheels on the front leg of the bike. The mains cable is about 1 metre long, so i use an extension cable (which i already had in position because it is the one i use for my hair dryer). Once i was happy with the bikes location i plugged the bike it, straight away the monitor lit up and beeped into life (the screen is bright blue and very easy to read, even on a sunny morning) so i went through the process of setting myself up as user one (u1 on the monitor display) which is basically you entering your gender; age; height & weight (in metric measurements i’m afraid) so it is probably best you take note of these details before sitting on the bike and trying to set it up for the first time (unlike me). Once you have set yourself (and any other users your require) you are good to go.
