    Probably the best indoor rowing machine. In a gym there can be a variety of different makes for similar equipment, but when it comes to indoor rowing machines, you know it’s going to be a concept 2 model d with either a pm3 or pm5. If it can stand up to gym use, it will be almost indestructible at home. Servicing is easy with the instruction sheet, parts are cheap if you ever need them and, the help from support staff is legendary. The pm3 that you’ll find on older model d rowers accepted a smart log card and, had an optional plug-in sensor to detect a polar heart monitor chest strap. The pm5 only accepts a usb stick and only detects the garmin and polar h7 chest straps. The model d is surprisingly light, mobile, and easy to store in two sections so that it takes up little space. The monorail that the seat slides on clicks over a bar on the main part of the rowing machine, and has a flap to lock it in place. It’s easy to fit in 20 minutes rowing at home when you’re pushed for time. Yes, it’s expensive but check out how well used models keep their value.

    Solid build and smooth to operate and an easy to understand display. This rowing machine is well worth it’s reputation. Solid build and smooth to operate and an easy to understand display. It is noisy but with a fan this size it was always going to be. It will be easy to maintain / service and so should last a lifetime – give or take.
